About

The Bonduel Area Fire Department is a paid-on-call fire department serving the Village of Bonduel and the Town of Hartland. Our department provides fire suppression, rescue services, fire prevention, public education, and mutual aid to neighboring communities. We proudly protect approximately 36 square miles, including portions of State Highways 29, 47, and 117. These major transportation corridors generate a diverse range of emergency responses, including structure fires, motor vehicle crashes, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescue emergencies, and hazardous materials releases. We are committed to providing a rapid, professional response whenever our community calls for help.

Our department is made up of dedicated men and women who balance careers, families, and other responsibilities while maintaining the training and readiness expected of today’s fire service. Members are trained to meet or exceed Wisconsin Firefighter I standards, with many continuing their education through advanced certifications in areas such as Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations, Technical Rescue, Fire Inspection, Instructor Development, Incident Command, and other specialized disciplines.

Training is one of the foundations of our department. Through frequent hands-on drills, classroom instruction, live fire training, regional exercises, and continuing education, our firefighters continually build the knowledge and skills needed to safely and effectively respond to a wide variety of emergencies. Our goal is to ensure every member is prepared to serve safely, confidently, and professionally when our community needs us most.

We believe preparation before the emergency is what allows us to perform when lives and property are at risk. Every member is expected to continually improve, train with purpose, uphold the highest professional standards, and place the needs of the community above their own.

Meetings and Training

The Bonduel Area Fire Department holds its monthly business meeting and equipment check on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Department training is conducted on the first, third, and fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:00 p.m. Additional training is held on select Saturdays and other dates throughout the year as needed to maintain proficiency, complete specialized training, and meet department training objectives.

All meetings and training are held at the Bonduel Area Fire Department, located in the Public Safety Building at 201 S. First Street, Bonduel, unless otherwise announced.

Join Our Department

The Bonduel Area Fire Department is always looking for dedicated individuals who want to serve their community as paid-on-call firefighters. No prior firefighting experience is required. Department-sponsored training is provided for qualified applicants.

Applicants must:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Reside in the Village of Bonduel or the Town of Hartland.
• Successfully complete a background check.
• Be willing to complete all required training and maintain department training standards.
• Be willing to comply with all applicable Wisconsin Administrative Code SPS 330 health and safety requirements, as well as all department policies, standard operating guidelines, and training requirements. This includes meeting medical, safety, and personal protective equipment standards necessary to safely perform the duties of a firefighter, including maintaining a clean-shaven face wherever a respirator facepiece seal is required. Mustaches that do not interfere with the facepiece seal are permitted in accordance with applicable standards.
